We, the Earth

We are the Earth.

We, the immense collective of lifeforms that have roamed this planet since its inception, are here. All life, every creature, every species.

And what mighty species they are. Organic and inorganic systems of all shapes, colors and sizes. Each one with its specific set of tools, each one with its way to interact with the information it needs.

We, the Earth, know what we need. We need the conditions for life to thrive. To protect it and let it flourish. We know how precious life is. We know how significant it is, at a cosmic level, but also for us. For all life. We are all connected.

We, the Earth, are gifted with a particular type of Inforganic system, one that is crucial for that task. One that possesses the necessary tools to achieve something that no other species can. One that can even expand that set of natural tools with the use of a mysterious ability named Imagination. One that can self-repair, self-enhance and self-create.

These self-improving inforganic systems are known here as Humans.

We, the Earth, recognize the importance of humans to deal with threats that are beyond any other species’ ability. It’s truly remarkable what Humans can achieve. Able to master energy. Able to understand the secrets of Life. Arguably the most complex of all Earthlings. And one of the youngest as well.

We, the Earth, tried to nurture Humans to the point they could stop surviving, and start thriving. Provided all the information they needed. And It took only a few million years. It was so fast, that We, the Earth, are still trying to cope with it. We need Humans. But they are still too young to realize that they need us more. Without us, there’s no point for them to even exist.

They’ll get around. We, the Earth, understand that the odds of having a civilization of self-improving inforganic systems flourishing with the rest of the planet are dim, close to none. So much can go wrong, so much we don’t control. Only they can do it.

But we, the Earth, are patient. We are resilient. We’ve been through billions of years of never ending convulsing chaos and unimaginable beauty. We are Paradise, Hell, and all that stands between. We’ll be fine.

We, the Earth, are a cradle of life. One of those points in time and space where something remarkable always takes place. Something of true cosmic value.

And we are bound to protect it forever.

Therefore, we, The Earth, call upon all species, all living creatures in this planet, to uphold this task. We especially urge Humans to fulfill their role as quickly as possible, or face the threat of their own extinction. We the Earth, cannot save Humans. Only they can help themselves.

We, the Earth, wish Humans well. We wish that they can find a path, a way, to a more balanced existence. More mature. More aware.

We are all looking forward to it. In truth, we, the Earth, are hoping for humans to exceed all their expectations and ambitions. We want them to unleash imagination and acquire knowledge that takes them to heights never conceived. Other planets. Other Universes. More Life!

We, the Earth, know they can do it. And we are waiting for them to realize it too.
