We need a new plan. A much better plan.
A plan that tackles all the issues that are at hand, nowadays, in most societies.
But that’s hardly enough. Time after time, alerts from the scientific community have felt in empty pits of incompetence, laziness and personal ambitions. We are past the point of short-turn fixes. We are past the point of trying different versions of the same corrupt mindset.
The generations ahead demand a new plan, built from root, one that overlaps with all societal models, instead of resetting it all. A system that, when possible, adds to current systems, instead of fighting them. A system that prepares us for the dangers we might face, and consequences we must endure.
A system where individual actions are collective solutions, and individual experiences turn into collective dreams.
A system that assumes that we can’t survive if we don’t thrive, and not the other way around.
A system that allows us to experience the world, while protecting it.
A system that holds accountable those who want everything for nothing, and rewards those who need nothing for everything.
We’ve never been in better shape to make a new plan. We have the means. We have the knowledge. And no one can question our imagination. We can fix it all.
We have the best set of tools ever created by mankind. We have technology, science, and humanities.
We have data. We have Design. We have democracy, diplomacy, and most of all, diversity.
The limits of our knowledge are being pushed forward in all directions. Our notions of “What happened” are being reviewed at the same pace as the ideas for “What will happen” . We are relearning history while proudly recreating science fiction.
But until we become united to deal with all the challenges ahead, until we break apart with all the systems that have been so grossly incompetent in assuring our well being, let alone our future, we don’t stand a chance.
And more people are becoming aware of that. More young people.
It’s their time. Their place. And they are expecting us to do better.
To be better.
We must answer their call.
